Ep25: Shim Shitty

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. This week we tackle the catastrophic Sim City launch, We discuss why EA is literally Hitler, and round it off with a listing of all the studios EA has bought, milked dry and then closed.

We also touch on The Walking Dead TV Show, Swamp Thing comics, the "Riker's Beard" moment in every serialized TV shows, and we give out a lot of really bad parenting advice.

Games discussed this week include (but are not limited to) XCOM, Real Racing (iOS), Sim City, the God of War: Ascension demo (as well as the God of War franchise as a whole), and Organ Trail (iOS).

A lot of downright grumbling and complaining in this one, but it's probably worth it, so you should still listen anyway.

In case you were wondering, the intro is called "Breakthrough" by Ben Landis, and can be found on the Chiptunes = Win album, along with many others that I use for the low background stuff.

The outro music is called "Hexapod" by the incredible BLAZAR.

Ep24: Screw Raiding Tombs, Let's Just beat Lara With Sticks For 6 Hours

Oh knock it off. Of course we don't condone the severe and prolonged beating of gaming's favorite exploretress... we do find it distressing how willingly Crystal Dynamics throws her under the grisly bus, though. Anyway...

As a black chasm of newslessness descends on the gaming industry in wake of the PS4 announcement, we are left with fully-healed voices and absolutely nothing to say.

At least Jon played something new, namely Real Racing 3 on iOS, and the new Star Wars tables for Zen Pinball. Steve just played God of War HD and Surgeon Simulator 2013.

Thrill, as we wait for the God of War: Ascension demo to download over the PlayStation Network. Gasp, as we discuss PS3 power supply replacement, and coo as we fawn over our brand new iPad Mini's.

This is the second-shortest GamePunchers ever, so.... .....I'm not sure where that sentence was going. Enjoy?

Ep23: There Might Be a New PlayStation Coming Out

This week it's Steve's turn to sound sexy, because he lost his voice saving orphans from a terrible fire. That's nothing, though, because on Wednesday February 20th, Sony lifted their metaphorical kimono on the PlayStation 4, and everyone in the world Oooh'ed and Aaah'ed.

I think we crammed everything of import in on this one; crazy tech guy, creepy car fetish Mancunian, Media Molecule's puppetry. Jonathan Blow's hairy arms did not make the cut, unfortunately, but his new game certainly did.

As well as all this Sony balony, we discuss Year Walk for iOS, and fly off on a tangent talking about Mike Cerney and Marble Madness.

It's the longest yet, weighing in at 2hrs, 25mins, but there's a possibility it's worth it.

Ph we finally ahve an email address - if you want to chat or want to jump on the show for a minute/hour/the whole thing, let us know by sending us an email. The link is in the top right of your screen. It is GamePunchersPod@gmail.com

Ep22: In Dead Space 3 No One Can Miss Your Spine-Light-Health-Bar Hunchback

It's a smoky-voiced, sensual show this week, as Jon's week-long snow-shoveling antics left him with a seriously thick, husky modulation, and Steve's balls are recovering (unsexily) after Vasectomy II: Electric Boogaloo. It's probably all a bit too TMI for a podcast preamble, but that's the hand baby Jesus dealt us, so we'll make the most of it.

A lot of stuff this week: We have some embarrassingly post factum anger at Blizzard's Real Money Auction House, confusion in the wake of prescription drug-fueled gaming,  Steve's unhealthy sexual obsession with Borderlands' Moxxi, sharing the platonic man-love one experiences when controlling marines in XCOM, and much, much more.

Games discussed this week include XCOM, BORDERLANDS 2, Dead Space 3, Crashlander for iOS, and Borderlands Legends for iOS.

Ep21: Doctor Whom

Sorry for last week's omission. As I explain in this week's show, last week's went brilliantly, except at the very end when I realized I hadn't recorded any of it.

Anyway, we are here now, to both love long time and to entertain you. We will also regale you with chit chat about, very specifically, The PS4 leak, the Elder Scrolls Online cinematic trailer, the THQ buyouts and how Steve finally discovered Doctor Who.

Games covered this week are FTL, The Cave (demo) and Proteus, so not much there, and yet we still managed to record our longest show yet, weighing in at 2hrs 15mins.

We certainly hope you're down with the new music - I understand the volume was a little overbearing for ep20, which I have hopefully rectified now.

Ep20: We EA'd the Fuck Out of This Podcast

NEW MUSIC! As always, the mix sounds great through my headphones, but who knows how the exported mp3 turns out. Why not listen and let me know. I'll provide a full credit listing later on today.

In this episode Steve and Jon talk about Devil May Cry, Dead Space 3, Portal 2, Skyrim, Zelda: Skyward Sword, Infamous, Tony Hawk Pro Skater, FTL, Cart Life, Disney Infinity, Temple Run 2 (iOS), Joe Danger (iOS), Cube Rally Redline (iOS), Edge (iOS), GeoDefense (iOS), and a bunch of other stuff (yes, that was an Oxford Comma I just used).

Steve does bring up Joe Biden and the whole gun control/violence in video games thing, so apologies upfront for all of that.

Hope you enjoy it, and thanks for listening!

EP19: Hotline Keyboard Frog Drumset Fucking Fractions Werewolf Miami

I'm rather fond of this one. Not only is Steve joined by his ex Gamerant.com buddy, Jon Lavallee, but the sheer number of topics covered this week is just outrageous.

games covered this week are Halo 4, Assassin's Creed 3, Frog Fractions, Hotline Miami, The Walking Dead, and Hero Academy for iOS.

As well as this we talk at length about the weird PC console boxes that just materialized in the news on CES week.  Are Valve's 'Piston' box and nVidia's 'Shield'' in a position to rattle any cages in the marketplace this close to the next wave of console releases? I'm guessing no, but we'll see.

Mortals! You defy the gods? I sentence you to travel among unknown stars. Until you buy the Bastion Soundtrack by Darren Korb of SuperGiant Games, your bodies shall remain as lifeless as stone…

Ep18: Podcastlet

As we come full circle on our very first year of game punching, we are also at the same juncture we were last year -- the (Kat) Winter of our discontent is over, and Kat's Semestering is finally over for 2012.

This one was cut short because I got a page from my job and needed to deal with it... so this one runs around 40 minutes or so... probably a bit more with the music added in.

I believe there is some mad echo on my voice throughout this one - blame Kat's shitty headphones for echoing back everything I said.

This episode's intro music is Load '*',8,1 by Eisenfunk and the outro is Egoshooter, again by Eisenfunk. They are both avialble on the album '8-bit'.

Ep17: ...In the test chamberrr

This week the gorgeous Bullshot! Podcast co-host, Fish, drops in so that he and Steve can spend 2 hours sucking Valve's dick.

It began innocently enough, by way of a simple discussion about the newly-released mod, Black Mesa Source and its many virtues. What it turned into was 2 hours of gratuitous and ungodly praising of old PC games.

This week's game mentions include Half Life, Half Life 2, Black Mesa Source, Portal, Portal 2, Team Fortress, Team Fortress Classic, Borderlands 2, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Aliens Vs Predator, Aliens Vs. Predator 2, Aliens (C64), Alien3 (SNES), Gears of War, Max Payne, No One Lives Forever, Doom, Doom2, Rise of the Triad.... and on and on.

This episode's intro music is Load '*',8,1 by Eisenfunk and the outro is Egoshooter, again by Eisenfunk.

Enjoy!

Ep15: The Isle of Man

Ep15: The Isle of Man

The Bullshot! Podcast crew (being Jim Plachy and seasoned GamePunchers veteran Brendan "The Jesus Fish" Saricks) joined me this week for what I think you'll all agree once hearing it is a locomotive of relentless sinewy, raw-jaw talent and videogame discussion.

The title says it all, really. At around the 45 minute mark, Kat's power went out, ending our recoded  Skype call. She did correct the error though, mere moments later, so once she got connected up again I fired up a second recording and spliced them shits together. The way I roll is thus.
